Question

I have a wavy hair and I HATE it. Btw no irons! What shampoo would straighten my hair?

What shampoo would straighten my hair?

Shuna’s Answer

No, Shampoo can straighten hair. You can intensively condition it with a weekly mask(to make the hair less porous and therefore curl more defined than frizzy) then use a cream based serum to further define. No heat, minimal fuss ( leave it during the day rather than breaking up curls may touching) and enjoy really soft feminine locks!

Try Elasticizer Extreme and smoother serum by Philip Kingsley- totally brilliant.

My hair is thinning rapidly. I have been on medication (Thyroxine) for 15 years. Could the cause of my hair loss be due to the brand of medication (Levothyroxine) or any other possible reason? I am interested in having a consultation and would be grateful if you could advise me of your initial cost.

Hello, thank you for your enquiry.
it is most unlikely that this form of medication will effect the thinning you describe. I would not like to diagnose before thoroughly examining your hair and scalp, as there are several conditions that could be present in your case.
I would be more than happy to discuss appointment detsils with you by email or phone and more specific guidance I meet you .
Please do not worry any more, your thinning problem can be addressed and I am here to support you.

  • I had noticed my hair falling out by the bunches. I had severe alopecia about 3 years ago and my hair grew back within time. However, it is thinner than ever. I was worried the alopecia would come back again leaving me with tiny bald patches. I was willing to try anything that would ease my hair loss/thinning. I have been using Shielo’s Volume Shampoo and Conditioner for about a week now. I have to say I AM liking the results. Since starting it a week ago I have 75% less hair shedding. The smell is fresh and clean (the smell reminds me of it working itself) I have to say maybe a little therapeutic. I WOULD TRY THIS PRODUCT IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR HELP! I since then have ordered the shampoo and still waiting for it to arrive. I hope this helps, loosing your hair is hard and no one understands unless they have had it happen to them.

      Hello Jasmine,
Thank you for your words of support and empathy to my followers. Whilst I have not experienced hair loss myself I am in the ideal position to appreciate completely the total devistation an individual experiences when their hair starts to fall out or becomes thinner.
Every single day in my clinic, I have patients consulting me ( often in tears) as they perceive they will loose all of their hair ( very rarely the case)!
As a fully qualified and experienced Trichologist; I can categorically say, there is no detergent available that can stop hair loss. A shampoo as you are aware is designed to lower thd pH of the hair in order to give up the oil, sweat, styling products… It can not penetrate the scalp and alter the growth cycle!!! If you have found a cosmetic product that gives you a temporary boost increase in the body of the hair and leaves it smelling nice then great, but this can’t replace having a blood test and diagnosing perhaps a hormone balance, nutritional deficiency or perhaps even an allergic response/auto immune reaction.
I would be interested Jasmine on your thoughts on this .
